One-Of-A-Kind Outerlimits SV 43 Back On The Water

Finished in late 2013, a unique Outerlimits SV 43 has found a new home with owner Glenn Kennedy of Wisconsin. The open-cockpit 43-footer, which Kennedy recently purchased from Dustin Whipple in Fresno, Calif., was the product of an elaboratre collaboration involving Fresno-based Whipple SuperchargersTeague Custom Marine in Valencia, Calif., and Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats in Bristol, R.I.

Captured here on Millerton Lake in Fresno, Calif., in late 2013, this special Outerlimits SV 43 was owned by Dustin Whipple and was built for him by his brother-in-law Mike Fiore. Photo courtesy/copyright Robert Brown Photography/Speedonthewater.com.

“I told Dan Kleitz at Outerlimits I was looking for something special,” said Kennedy, who previously owned Holy Smokes, a canopied SV 43 sportboat powered by Mercury Racing 1075 SCi engines. “And this boat is indeed special. It has only 29 hours on it. I started talking to Dustin about four weeks ago, and now it’s here.”

Before he bought the boat, Kennedy traveled to Fresno to run it with Whipple on Millerton Lake, where it was originally shot for an extensive article that was published in the January/February 2014 issue of Speed On The Water digital magazine. The stunning V-bottom arrived at his home last Sunday.

Throughout 2013, Whipple had worked closely on the boat with his brother-in-law and close friend Mike Fiore, who founded Outerlimits. The V-bottom reportedly remained mostly dormant after Fiore’s tragic death following an accident during the 2014 Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in Central Missouri.

Kennedy said he plans to add sand strainers to the boat, which he’ll run on Lake Michigan until the weather gets too cold. From there, he’ll have it hauled to Sarasota, Fla., where he’ll store it and use it as time permits. He plans to run it in the Florida Powerboat Club’s Tampa Bay Poker run next March, as well as the 2018 Four Horsemen Poker Run in his home state.

Thanks to fellow Outerlimits owner Vinnie Diorio’s trucking company, the 43-footer arrived at Kennedy’s home in Wisconsin two days ago.

“I’m also thinking about bringing it to the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, not competing but just bringing it there to run,” he said.
