Offshore Powerboat Association racers in need of a positive, early winter reminder of the sport they love will want to mark February 5-6 in North Myrtle Beach, S.C., on their calendars. Those are the dates for the New Jersey-based organization’s annual post-season awards banquet weekend. The event’s dates and location were announced in a recent OPA press release.

“The cold is coming and our champions have been crowned,” the release stated. “The High Points Champion, Godfather Cup and Jimmy Welsh Trophy will be presented—along with a few more surprises along the way. Our National Champions and Northeast Championship Series winners will be awarded.”

The Saturday evening dinner celebration will be hosted at North Myrtle Beach RV Resort and Dry Dock, which was the “keystone sponsor” for the 2021 Offshore Powerboat Association World Championships last month in Englewood Beach, Fla.

According to the release, the American Power Boat Association member-organization has secured 20 spaces for rent within the RV park. Those spaces will be available to OPA members through December 16, after which they will be open to the public. North Myrtle Beach RV Resort and Dry Dock also offers an RV rental option, and there are several hotels in the area.
