Although it’s had plenty of buzz on the Internet messages boards since it was completed several months ago, Nor-Tech’s first Super 80 Performance Yacht Roadster—dubbed Lady Lisa by its owner—will make its official public debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show October 27—31. The 80-footer, which features a completely open cockpit, reportedly runs more than 60 knots.
“The owners have been having a great time with it,” said Terry Sobo, the Cape Coral, Fla., boat builder’s director of sales and marketing. “They like to make lunch runs from Sarasota (Fla.) to South Seas resort. They’ve also made a trip to Key West.”
Also on exhibit at the Nor-Tech docks during the Fort Lauderdale event will be a couple of the builder’s 390 Sport Open center-console V-bottoms and a 4000 Roadster Super Cat.
Sobo added that business has been picking up for Nor-Tech.
“The center console has been really strong—No. 10 is in the mold and we’re just celebrating its first anniversary,” he said. “So a trend is definitely there. We also have a couple of big 50-foot cats in production, one with turbine power and with Mercury Racing 1350s.”
