Nor-Tech’s new 34-foot center console will make its second sea trial this afternoon, according to Terry Sobo, the company’s director of sales and marketing. Dubbed the 340, the new model, which is powered by twin 300-hp Mercury Verado engines, hit the water for its first official sea trial earlier this week.
“It did everything we hoped it would do and more,” said Sobo. “It has all the performance characteristics of the 390. It turns like a Sea-Doo on steroids and, just like the 390, it’s a very level-running boat.”
Sobo declined to reveal the 340’s top speed in its first sea trial, but did say that he expected to improve it in the second outing.
“I can tell you this,” he said. “The speed is better than any 34-foot-long, 10-foot-4-inch beam center console with the same power on the market.”
