Noble Tribute Highlights New Speed On The Water Digital Magazine

sotw 0216 promo

As we are with every issue of Speed On The Water Magazine we release, we are pleased to share the latest grouping of columns, stories and more in the January/February 2016 edition, which is available to download for free here or by clicking the image above.

But for obvious reasons we are extra proud of this issue—our 17th since launching the digital publication in 2013—considering we squeezed in a fitting tribute to the charismatic Robert “J.R.” Noble of the STIHL Offshore Racing team. We’ve only done such a tribute one time, for the late Outerlimits founder Mike Fiore (you can download the September/October 2014 issue here), and we’re hoping not to have to do any again anytime soon.

Of course the issue was jam-packed with features before we added the six pages of reflection on Noble’s offshore racing career. Between a feature on 21 years of the Miami Boat Show Poker Run, a roundup of sport catamarans with twin Mercury Racing Verado 400R engines, a closer look at the popularity of top-speed shootouts, a rebuild project on a LaveyCraft 29 NuEra and a profile on Nor-Tech’s 100-mph 390 Sport CC, there is plenty to read.

Along with the standard departments, including Teague’s Take, Gear and On Scene, the following is a rundown of what’s included in the latest Speed On The Water magazine, which can be downloaded for free here.

Robert “J.R.” Noble wasn’t just a driving force in offshore racing’s Superboat class. He was the tip of the spear for the entire sport.

Adding Power and Reliability
A fairly simple DIY Mercury 575SCi refresh turns into a much larger project on this Southern California boater’s LaveryCraft 29 NuEra.
