With his annual season-opening Atlantic City Rally behind him, New Jersey Powerboat Club president Dave Patnaude is in the early stages of planning the club’s first-ever overnight Hudson River Fun. The event, which will include an evening in New York City, is slated for July 28-29.

At present, Patnaude is in the process of gauging participant interest. “Before we get into booking slips and hotel rooms, we would like to get an idea of how many boats would likely attend,” he wrote in a newsletter emailed to NJPBC club members.
The tentative plan is to launch the boats from Atlantic Highlands Municipal Marina in New Jersey on Saturday, July 28 and then travel up the Hudson River to Newburgh, N.Y., The day will end at Liberty Landing in New Jersey, where participants will take a water taxi to lower Manhattan and stay overnight at the Courtyard New York Manhattan/World Trade Center Hotel.
On Sunday, July 29, participants will return via water taxi to Liberty Landing and enjoy brunch at the Liberty Landing Restaurant. From there, the boats will return to Highlands Municipal Marina.
Those interested in participating should reach out to Patnaude via email, [email protected].
