As a follow up to The Interview Issue—our most ambitious Speed On The Water digital magazine undertaking since we began publishing the bi-monthly title seven years ago—the latest issue of the magazine is now live and available to download for those who have a subscription. If you don’t already have one you can register for an account here then subscribe to the issue once you’ve confirmed your account information.
The 94-page issue includes a comprehensive 24-page center console roundup based on an event we organized during the 2019 Lake of the Ozarks Shootout and more current information based on new models introduced by companies such as Fountain Powerboats, MTI and Renegade Powerboats.
Also included in the issue is a tribute to Howard Arneson, one of the high-performance marine industry’s most legendary and influential figures who passed away in June at age 99. If you’ve ever met Arneson, you’ll agree with us that there has never been a more welcoming person in the go-fast boating world.
On top of four On Scene looks at events in Kentucky, Missouri and Wisconsin, there is a full feature story on the inaugural Sarasota Blast On The Bay Fun Run in Florida, which was an instant hit with it being a “replacement” event for the annual Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix offshore races that were cancelled because of the pandemic, in the issue.
The new Speed On The Water magazine also gives you a closer look at two super custom boats from Cigarette Racing Team and Sunsation Boats. First is Drogon, a one-of-a-kind Cigarette 42X, which is powered by twin Mercury Racing 1350/1100 engines and features a paintjob from Visual Imagination and an interior provided by Cutting Edge Interiors. The latter—the cover boat—is Kort Ordered, a 34-foot Sunsation center console painted inside and out by Mitcher T. Custom Painting and Design. Powered by three Mercury Racing 450R engines, the 34 CCX is easily one of the coolest Sunsations ever built.
We hope you get a chance you sign up for the magazine and enjoy this issue (or any of the previous 41 issues in our archives) any time you want. Please let us know if you have any questions or problems with the subscription service. And don’t hesitate to share any feedback with us via email or on social media.
