New Outerlimits SV 50 Headed North of the Border

Following yesterday’s sea trial in Bristol, R.I., a brand-new Outerlimits SV 50 custom high-performance boat is being hauled to the Ontario, Canada, area and will be on the water next week. The 50-foot, sit-down-cockpit V-bottom with a half cabin (storage lockers and facing lounges) is powered by custom color-matched Mercury Racing 1350 engines with matching M8 drives.

Yesterday’s sea trial of the latest SV 50 from Outerlimits went perfectly, according to the company’s Dan Kleitz. Photos courtesy/copyright Halsey Fulton.

“The boat ran flawlessly—first time in the water—yesterday,” said Dan Kleitz, the Bristol, R.I., company’s production manager. “With these Mercury Racing engines, you put the boat in the water, turn the key, run it, put it back on the trailer and you’re done. It’s awesome.”

A longtime Outerlimits customer who has owned an SL 52, a 42 Legacy and a 51 Sport Yacht, the Canadian buyer ordered the boat in September 2015. Ace paint man Stephen Miles handled the design and execution of V-bottom’s graphics. Lee Aerospace created its custom windshield. The customer supplied the components for the stereo system.

“The entire package came out looking great,” said Kleitz. “It’s the first SV 50 with our new sit-down interior and has our newly designed throttle-box insert. It also has Mercury Marine’s latest Vessel View 702 system.”
