New Outerlimits SL 50 Bound For Lake Of The Ozarks

Despite that he’s tested every Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats V-bottom or catamaran built since late 2014, Dan Kleitz, the Bristol, R.I., company’s national sales manager, still gets excited about it. Kleitz, as anyone who meets him will learn in seconds, bleeds Outerlimits blood. He’s not subtle about it, and it makes him the perfect man for his forward-facing job as witnessed by his recent test session on Friday in a new Outerlimits SL 50 V-bottom.

“Our team did an awesome job with the build,” Kleitz said. “And she’s fast.”

Constructed of carbon fiber and epoxy, the boat has no rubrail and is headed to a first-time Outerlimits owner at the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri. It is powered by a pair of dual-calibration Mercury Racing 1550/1350 engines.

Stephen Miles Design of Owensboro, Ky., handled the 50-footer’s tasteful paintjob. Ryan Schwarzen of Kutting Edge Interiors took care of the 50-footer’s upholstery, which is a blend of Alcantara and ultra-leather. All external hardware is black.

The boat—the ninth SL 50 competed to date—will be delivered on an Evolution trailer.

“Nothing beats the style and performance of an Outerlimits,” Kleitz said. “This SL 50 is a perfect example of that.”
