Scott Sjogren of Shogren Performance Marine and his longtime customer and friend Vinnie Foglia definitely took the scenic route yesterday in the delivery of Foglia’s Mystic Powerboats M4200 luxury center console from the DeLand, Fla.-based custom center console and catamaran builder. While boat’s ultimate destination is Chicago—Foglia’s hometown— the new owner and his guests put the triple Mercury Racing 400R outboard engine-powered boat through its first fun run yesterday when they headed from Miami to Bimini.

The 2016 model is Foglia’s second M4200 center console in as many years. For Sjogren, whose company is headquartered in McHenry, Ill., it was his second Mystic M4200 in the past two weeks—he recently delivered another 42-footer to Mystic’s second West Coast customer in Newport Beach, Calif.

“The run to Bimini was great,” said Sjogren. “Everything went perfectly, and the boat is absolutely beautiful.”

Foglia, Sjogren and company headed back to Miami this morning.

“I’m hoping for a smooth ride back, but I doubt it,” said Foglia shortly before they departed. “It’s supposed to be four- to six-footers all the way back.

“We had a really fun night,” he added, and then laughed. “That’s probably going to make it a little worse.”

Next stop after the 42-footer returns to Miami? Chicago.
