When the first order for the Hermes & Zeus IF 60 luxury high-performance yacht designed by Theodoros Fotiadis comes in, John Cosker and the crew at Mystic Powerboats in Deland, Fla., will fill it. That’s the word from Cosker, who has taken a number of contract-build jobs for boat builders including GTMM, Powerplay and Powerboat P1 USA during the past year.
According to the designer, this 60-footer will be capable of top speeds in the 200-mph range.
“Theodoros actually reached out to us through Stu Jones at the Florida Powerboat Club,” said Cosker, the founder and owner of Mystic. “We’re still waiting for the first order, but we think it’s going to be a great project.”
According to a story on luxactic.com, a “luxury toy” and lifestyle website, the stepped-hull 60-footer is designed to achieve speeds of 180 knots—207 mph—with twin 2,200 turbine engines and will reach 90 knots—104 mph—with twin 1,600-hp MTU turbo-diesel engines. The interior layout for the yacht includes a master stateroom and guest stateroom, an aft salon and a seven- to three-seat cockpit.
Mystic will build the yacht with epoxy, E-glass and carbon fiber, just as it builds its own 50-catamarans, and post cure the hull and deck. Price is approximately $3.6 million.
