Mystic M4200 Center Console Finds Home At Grand Lake

A hotbed for high-performance V-bottoms and catamarans, Oklahoma’s Grand Lake ‘O The Cherokees now has a Mystic Powerboats M4200 luxury center console ready to ply its extensive waters. Owners Chris and Kris Helt brought their new 42-footer powered by four Mercury Racing 400R outboard engines to their home close to the lake today.

This Mystic M4200 is the company’s first Oklahoma-based luxury center console.

According to Scott Sjogren of Mystic Powerboat Sales, the Helt’s white (with pearl) and black Chris Mills/Boat Customs-painted M4200—the 23rd model delivered since its introduction in early 2015—is the DeLand, Fla., company’s most loaded center console built to date.

“It’s definitely the heaviest one we’ve ever built,” Sjogren said. “It has a generator—the first M4200 to have one of those—and a full air-conditioning system. It has night vision, radar, GPS, autopilot, VIRB cameras and an extra sound system. They really loaded it up.

“Chris told me, ‘I don’t want to have to put all that in after the fact’ when he ordered it,” he continued. “He wants to have all that stuff for when he take the boat down to Florida. I think he’s just one of those gadget guys who likes cool stuff, and he and his wife are two of the nicest people I’ve ever met.”

For Sjogren, who joined Chad and Heather Collier for the first test session of their new C4400 catamaran two days ago, it’s been a busy week that has him looking forward to the Memorial Day weekend. But the break won’t last long, as production of Mystic M4200s continues—and the company is in the early stages of building another low-profile C4400 catamaran for a longtime customer.

“That one is not going to finish for awhile,” said Sjogren. “But it’s going to be a (Mercury Racing) 865 engine boat.”
