Earlier today outside of Chicago, Ill, a new Mystic Powerboats customer took possession of an M3900 luxury performance center console with a trio Mercury Verado 350 outboard engines on its transom. Not only is the new boat Mystic’s first 39-footer with 350 Verado power, it’s the DeLand, Fla, custom go-fast catamaran and center console builder’s first triple-outboard-engine offering—all Mystic M3900s previously delivered have been powered by quad Verado 400R outboards.
“We spent about an hour and a half on Lake Michigan with the customer, who is from Chicago, and another prospective buyer who flew in from Miami for a demo ride,” said Scott Sjogren of Shogren Performance Marine, Mystic’s global dealer based in Gurnee, Ill. “With six people on board and full load of fuel, the boat ran 70 mph—and it’s fully loaded with an air-conditioning, radar and all the rest. Everyone was amazed by how quiet the boat was, and how big it is.

“Every boat John (Cosker, the owner and founder of Mystic Powerboats) builds gets nicer and nicer,” he added. “The craftsman is just phenomenal.”
Both Sjogren and Cosker spent last weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout and Super Cat Fest in Central Missouri, where the company had two 50-foot cats competing in the liquid-mile shootout and several more at the docks at both venues and on the waterway.
“We had a fantastic Lake of the Ozarks event,” said Sjogren. “We had four calls on Monday that came out of that event. I really want to thank Mark Waddington and Brett Manire of Performance Boat Center for making our customers with 50-foot Mystics feel so welcome. They are true ambassadors for the Lake of the Ozarks.”
