Currently in rigging for its twin Mercury Racing Verado 400R outboard engines, the first Mystic Powerboats C3800 catamaran will go to a longtime Mystic owner in the Lake of the Ozarks area in Central Missouri. The 38-footer is the Deland, Fla., company’s first outboard powered cat.
Mystic’s first outboard-engine powered catamaran, the C3800 should be ready for its initial sea trial next month.
“The C3800 is based off the C4400, but it has a substantially cut-down deck and the cockpit is completely different,” said Greg Weber, Mystic’s director of sales and dealer development. “We’re offering two seating options, the traditional two bucket seats up front and a four-person bucket-style bench in the back, and a two-plus-two-plus-two bucket seat setup, which gives you excellent access to the rear deck section and boarding platform, which has a ladder, aft of the cockpit.
Weber said that company owner/founder John Cosker and his team plan to have the boat ready for water testing in early May.
“So far, we have three M3800s sold under contract and with deposits,” said Weber. “We’re excited to the first one out there.”
