Mystic Bringing M5200 Center Console And More To Toys Tour

If you’ve followed the Toys Tour, an annual powerboat-owner-fueled gift drive for children in need, you’ve probably noticed that new-model-year boats are in short supply. By the time the Palatka, Fla., event rolls around late in the year—December 2-4 this time around—most builders have their newest releases back in the barn, so to speak, and are beginning preparations for the annual Miami International Boat Show each February.

In what could be the largest exception in the 22-year history of the Toys Tour, John Cosker and company at Mystic Powerboats in DeLand, Fla., are bringing their new flagship M5200 center console to the event this year. Cosker and Greg Weber, Mystic’s national sales manager, debuted the 52-footer at the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in August and it quickly became the talk of the event.

And now it’s coming to the Toys Tour, which is particularly relevant as Mystic is a returning backer and is sponsoring this year’s Kids Fest on Friday, Dec. 2.

“We’ve been a sponsor for a while now since it is right in our backyard on the St. Johns River, but last year was the first time I actually attended it due to scheduling conflicts in the past,” Cosker explained. “I had such a good time and it is such a good cause we decided to up our sponsorship this year. We are going to run the 52 from New Smyrna Beach to Jacksonville and down the St. Johns River to attend the run.

“We’re making it a trip for our managers, too,” he added. “Were taking all of them on the run.”

The Mystic Powerboats-backed Kids Fest will include a visit from Santa Claus, a K-9 demo and fingerprinting fun provided by the Putnam County Sheriff Office, fire truck displays, food vendors and more.

Registration for the 2022 Toys Tour is still open. Sponsorship opportunities remain available.
