All in for the Florida Powerboat Club’s Miami Boat Show Poker run exhibit, MTI has committed five boats for the February 18-21 event’s own boat show at Gilbert’s Resort in Key Largo. According to Randy Scism, the founder of the Wentzville, Mo., high-performance center console and catamaran builder, and his daughter and marketing/client relations manager, Taylor, the company will have a healthy mix of offerings at its docks.

“We’re going to have a 390X, a V-42, a 48-foot catamaran with Mercury Racing 1550/1350 engines and a V-57 with quad Seven Marine 627 outboards,” said Taylor Scism. “On the fifth boat, we’re not quite positive yet.”
Both the 48- and 57-footers, her father added, are available for purchase.
Though the boat show element is new to the Miami Boat Show Poker Run, that element—as successfully demonstrated through the FPC’s Poker Run Village during its signature Key West Poker Run—is not new to the club. Randy Scism is both realistic and optimistic about the upcoming event.
“We don’t expect it to be a ‘mini Miami show,’ but it’s a good group of people and we’ll see what happens,” Scism said. “We’ll see who comes out for it.”
In addition to its display boats, MTI will have a healthy contingent of owners participating in the poker run. The company will return to the Florida Keys March 11-14 for its annual Owners Run to the Hawks Cay Resort on Duck Key.
Currently for sale, this 2017 model 48-foot catamaran will be on display at Gilbert’s Resort during the Florida Powerboat Club Miami Boat Show Poker Run.
