MTI Expecting Intimate Group For Sunshine State New Year’s Event

In what will be its fourth and final owners’ event of 2020—and the first of 2021—MTI is hosting its third annual New Year’s Fun Run happening December 31 through January 3. Taylor Scism, the Wentzville, Mo., company’s client relations and marketing manager, said she’s expecting 10 to 15 high-performance catamarans and center consoles to participate in the event, which will be based out of Haulover Marine Center in North Miami.

“It is a smaller event that usually attracts MTI owners who keep their boats at Haulover or live in the Miami and Fort Lauderdale area,” Scism said. “It also is very family friendly since most people’s kids are on holiday break and come along.

“Weather and waves permitting, we plan to do lunch runs each day out of Haulover to the Keys, Fort Lauderdale and the local Miami area,” she added. “We will lead the group each day.”

Given current COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines in the area, MTI has no evening festivities planned after each day trip.

“Everyone will be on their own to enjoy Miami and the great restaurants the city has to offer,” she added. “Restaurants have restrictions with table capacity so it is easier and safer this way.”
