MTI Expanding Workforce to Accommodate Increased Production Demand

In an effort to catch up to customer demand for both its MTI-V 42 and upcoming V 57 models and its offshore catamaran lineup, Marine Technology Inc., in Wentzville, Mo., is currently seeking employees in all of its production departments. According to Randy Scism, MTI’s owner and founder, the company has more orders in place at the moment than it’s had at any one time in its 16-year history.

One of the latest MTI-V 42 models was delivered in time for the Key West Poker Run in November. The company’s 42-foot luxury center consoles—and their larger 57-foot siblings—are the main reason why MTI is trying to double its production efforts in 2016.

“It helps that we have more product options than ever before, but we’ve never been so overwhelmed with our sales,” Scism said. “We’ve been growing at an unbelievable pace. I’m not complaining, that’s for sure. We just need to ramp up production and to do that we need the manpower. At a minimum, we’d like to double production next year.

“We need some talented people,” he added. “Actually what we need are hardworking people with a good work ethic and we can teach them the rest. It’s a fast-paced environment so if you can’t handle that, don’t bother to apply.”

Scism, who is coming off a successful year in which MTI sold a bunch of pleasure boats and won an offshore racing “triple crown” (read the story), said anyone interested in applying for a job can inquire by calling 636-639-1166 or emailing [email protected]
