Midwest Boating Center Expanding

Located at the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri, Midwest Boating Center has been a successful Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats in the area and its surrounding territory since 2011. According to owner Marvin Dufner, the Lake Ozark, Mo., dealership has sold out its Nor-Tech center console supply every year.

Among Midwest Boating Center’s most recent Nor-Tech deliveries was the first Sport 500 center console, which is owned by Jesse and Stephanie Neumann. The boat is the third Nor-Tech purchased through the dealership by the Minnesota-based couple who will keep the 50-footer at its second home in Naples, Fla.

Now the business is expanding.

“We have just purchased 4.6 acres of property on Bagnell Dam Boulevard across from Marine Max,” Dufner said. “We’re in the process of getting open this season. During the winter, we have plans to build a new 12,000-square-foot showroom.”

As part of his expansion plan for the dealership, Dufner hired locally based marine industry professional Jason Taylor as its general manager.

“I do a little bit of everything—from customer service to washing boats—and we just brought on a new service person,” Taylor said. “But the focus right now is on delivering new boats.”

Added Dufner, “We are sold out of Nor-Techs for the entire year.”

Most recently, Midwest Boating Center delivered the first Nor-Tech 500 Sport model to Jesse and Stephanie Neumann. It is the third Nor-Tech center console the Minnesota couple has purchased through the dealership, as they previously owned a 450 and a 390.

“The wonderful thing about Nor-Tech is that it has such loyalty from its customers—Nor-Tech’s repeat client base is really high,” Dufner said. “They love the quality of the boat. They love the styling of the boat.

“When you sell a Nor-Tech, you can expect to have that customer for a long time,” he added. “They become part of the Nor-Tech family.”
