In a move to spark already strong sales of its Verado 400R outboard engines, Mercury Racing is providing Platinum MPP (Mercury Product Protection) coverage—free of charge—in addition to the standard two-year factory warranty on all 2017-year Verado 400R consumer performance outboard engines. Dubbed the “MPP For Three!” promotion, the program is applicable to repower projects as well as new-boat purchases. The news was announced in a press release from the Fond du Lac, Wis., high-performance marine engine and accessories company.

The comprehensive factory coverage also is transferable to subsequent owners. Retail value, according to the press release, is more than $2,000. Engines purchased from July 3, 2016 through July 1, 2017 are eligible.

“Prompt product registration is required for program activation,” said Steve Miller, Mercury Racing’s director of marketing, sales and service, in the release. “The program ends July 1, 2017.”
