Visitors to the annual Los Angeles Boat Show, which opened yesterday at the Pomona Fairplex in Southern California, will get the first up-close look at the newest CNC stern-drive-application propeller from Mercury Racing. The surface-piercing cleaver prop is “designed to maximize top-end speed on performance hulls powered by Mercury Racing 520, 525, 540, 565 and 600 SCI engines when mated to the Bravo XR Sport and Sport Master drives,” according to a press release from the Fond du Lac, Wis., high-performance marine engine and accessories company.
Unveiled today at the L.A. Boat Show, this 600-hp-rated cleaver is Mercury Racing’s latest CNC propeller (click for full frame).
The new cleaver propellers are available in pitches from 26 to 40 inches with 15- and 18-degree rake angles. They are available in 14-3/4- and 15-1/2-inch diameters.
The new props must be custom-ordered through Mercury dealers. Each prop will come with a protective Mercury Racing case.
