Open for the 2021-2022 academic year, Mercury Racing’s annual “Excellence In Trade” scholarship program is “designed to support local high school students or graduates” in the Fond du Lac, Wis., area and beyond who will “further their education in a trade-related field.” The news was announced in a press release on the Envision Fond du Lac website.

“This is the third year offering the Mercury Racing Excellence in trade scholarships,” said Stuart Halley, the general manager of the high-performance marine engine and accessories company. ‘We wanted to bring focus to the importance of trade careers as individuals consider their future occupation.”

The program will offer two scholarships of $5,000 each ($2,500 each semester), intended to “alleviate financial stress of post-secondary education.” The scholarships are available to high school seniors or recent graduates from a public or private high school within the school districts of Fond du Lac, North Fond du Lac, Oshkosh, Mayville, Ripon, Rosendale-Brandon, Randolph, Waupun, Oakfield, Lomira, Campbellsport, and New Holstein.

• Have a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Official transcript submission is required.
