Coming in May at no charge through iTunes and Google play for smart phones and tablets, Mercury Marine’s new VesselView mobile app will be introduced and demonstrated this weekend at the GEICO Bassmasters Classic in Tulsa, Okla. The news was announced in a press release today from the Fond du Lac, Wis., marine engine and accessories company.
According to the release, the VesselView mobile app “instantly provides users access to their boat’s SmartCraft digital data in the palm of their hand” via Bluetooth Low Energy 4.0 technology.” Users can access all SmartCraft-equipped engine parameters including fuel usage, water temperature, oil and water pressures, battery voltage and more. Other information user can access through the app includes fault code diagnostics, maintenance reminders, mapping, performance summaries dealer location service, “points of interest” and more.

Mercury Marine’s VesselView Mobile app also provides users with a Web-based account that, according to the release, “gives them an even deeper connection with their boat by allowing them to analyze fuel consumption trip to trip and year to year, as well as to relive those wonderful family trips or fantastic moments.”
While the app will be a free download, owners of SmartCraft-equipped engines will need to purchase the VesselView Mobile Module to use it. The module will be available in May through Mercury Marine dealers. Cost is $275.
