Mercury Marine‘s outboard engines hit a home run with consumers and the National Marine Manufacturers Association in 2015.

Mercury Marine earned a Marine Industry Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) Award for Outboard from the National Marine Manufacturers Association Marine during the Miami International Boat Show. The show, which opened Feb. 11 at its new venue at Miami Marine Stadium and Park on Virginia Key, closes today.

The news was announced in a press release from the NMMA. According to the release, Marine Industry CSI Awards honor manufacturers who actively measure customer satisfaction and pursue continuous improvement to better serve the customer. Award recipients achieved and maintained an independently measured standard of excellence of 90 percent or higher in customer satisfaction over the past program year, based on information provided by customers purchasing a new boat or engine during the period between April 1, 2015 and December 31, 2015.

“Measuring our customers’ satisfaction lets us know more about what they are thinking, what they are saying, and allows us to learn and adapt, ultimately reaching a point where we have truly earned their praise,” said Robert Newsome, vice president of engineering standards for NMMA, in the release.

The Fond du Lac, Wis., marine engine and accessories company also received two 2015 Neptune Awards from the Marine Marketers of America during the show. According to an MMA press release, Mercury Marine earned those distinctions for its 2015 product literature and website.

“We are honored to receive this recognition,” said Michelle Dauchy, chief marketing officer of Mercury Marine, in the release. “Our mission with both the Mercury brochure and the Website was to help boaters easily choose the options best suited to their boating needs so they can confidently enjoy their time on the water. We are especially pleased that our products, Website and brochure meet the needs of boaters around the globe.”
