Mercury Marine Canada in Milton, Ontario, is celebrating a significant achievement in employee safety—one million hours of no lost time injury. Mercury’s headquarters in Canada, the Milton facility has been injury-free since 2010, according to a press release from its Fond du Lac, Wis., parent company.
Employees of Mercury Marine Canada gathered to celebrate the company’s impressive safety record.
“Building and maintaining a culture of safety as well as attention to detail has been the key to our success as a business unit here in Milton” said Georges Jalbert, the company’s general manager, in the release.
The Milton plant has 58 employees and houses corporate functions such as finance, sales, marketing, service and is home to Mercury finished goods, P&A and Land ‘N’ Sea Canada, according to the release.
“By assuring a safe work environment, developing and promoting safe work practices, continually improving processes, and engaging the entire team in working safely every day, our team in Canada has built a solid foundation for continued success,” said John Pfeifer, Mercury Marine president, in the release. “Achieving this record over the length of time in which it has occurred is a testimony to the sustainability of our safety culture, reflecting our value for our employees, our customers and the communities where we conduct business.”
