In less than one hour, Super Boat International‘s first race of the season kicks off today in Cocoa Beach, Fla., and you can watch it live right here speedonthewater.com courtesy of the livestream provided by the offshore racing producer.

Starting with the Superboat Vee and Production 3 and 4 classes, the racing action is scheduled to begin at noon (EST). The second race, which features the Extreme and Stock classes, is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. Race No. 3 with the premier Unlimited and Superboat clases is slated to begin at 2 p.m. (The livestream is set to begin 15 minutes before each of today’s three races.)

Current conditions include 3- to 5-foot seas. Winds are out of the east at 15 to 20 mph. Low tide will occur at 1:37 p.m., which should make things interesting on the near-shore leg of the oval-shaped course.

Returning 2014 Cocoa Beach winners set to compete include Miss GEICO, STIHL, Instigator-Hooters, Sun Print and Smart Marine Service (formerly SOS Venezuela). After finding metal shavings in the oil of its starboard-side drive yesterday before testing, the Unlimited-class team of driver/owner Chris Cox and throttleman/engine builder Herb Stotler was forced to scratch from today’s race. Also out of the running today is Absolutely Not, a Superboat Vee-class team that registered for the event but did not make it to Cocoa Beach.

Speedonthewater.com will provide a wrap-up of the Cocoa Beach event after both races have concluded.
