Lake Cumberland Thunder Run Off to Great Start

While we wish we were there to enjoy today’s lunch stop at Fishtales restaurant at Wolf Creek Marina on Kentucky’s Lake Cumberland, we’ll take seeing the first day of the eighth annual Thunder Run through the eyes of Lake Life Fotos’ Jacob Davis, who is shooting the event for the second year in a row. Thanks to his increased involvement, Davis is especially excited about tomorrow’s poker run.

The North Carolina photographer will be capturing the 60-plus boats in attendance from a helicopter with assistance from fellow shooter Bennie Brawley of South Carolina. Davis, who provided the images in the slideshow below, said he is going to have a photo booth set up in front of the registration houseboat today and tomorrow for participants to check out images.

Along with printing photos on site for participants and projecting images at the Friday night and Saturday night parties, Davis is raffling off two 13×19 prints in matted frames. The Thunder Run, which is hosted out of Grider Hill Resort and Marina, has a raffle on Saturday evening that includes all kinds of goodies from Hydrastar USA, AO Coolers and DJ Marine Audio.

Check out a few teaser images from the Thunder Run courtesy of Jacob Davis of Lake Life Fotos in the slideshow above.

The event also has some pretty cool trophies (see slideshow above) to hand out to this year’s winners courtesy of performance boater Mike Fuqua and Thunder Run sponsor FTD Customs.
