From the Hog’s Breath Saloon to Rick’s Upstairs and well beyond, Duval Street in Key West, Fla., is loaded with nighttime diversions open seven days a week. But in recent years parties specifically teed-up for the go-fast powerboating crowd during the November 6-13 Race World Offshore World Championship and Florida Powerboat Club Key West Poker Run have proliferated. And it’s reached the point where this is something happening every night that week.
A Key West Worlds tradition, the Sunday afternoon raceboat parade down Duval Street always gets the party started. Photo by Pete Boden copyright Shoot 2 Thrill Pix.
The fun actually begins on, Sunday, November 5 when “The World’s Fastest Boat Parade” takes over Duval Street that afternoon. There are plenty of places to head from there, but according to the Race World Offshore website Hank’s Hair of the Dog Saloon (409 Caroline St, Naval Air Station) is hosting a “Racers Sunday Fun Day” worth checking out.
Here’s a quick look at the evening party schedule for the week, as well as brief venue descriptions, courtesy of Race World Offshore.
