Talk about a busy schedule. After chatting with Michael “Doc” Janssen about his plans for this week’s Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in Central Missouri, I got a little tired just thinking about everything the performance boat enthusiast and offshore racer has going on at the moment.
Michael “Doc” Janssen is going to have both of his Outerlimits models on display at the Shootout on the Strip this week.
A renowned physician who specializes in spine care and resolutions, Janssen recently returned home to Denver from a couple of days in China’s Beijing and Tianjing. He then performed a few days worth of surgeries at his Center for Spinal Disorders and packed his bags to head to his lake house on Lake of the Ozarks where he participated in the Shootout’s 32-feet-and-under Lil Boat and Pontoon Poker Run on Friday in his canopied Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats SV 29 Snowy Mountain Brewery.
Janssen, who is scheduled to perform surgery in Denver on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday before he returns to the lake on Wednesday, said he will have both of his Outerlimits models—Snowy Mountain Brewery and Without Limits, an SV 53 with twin Teague Custom Marine 1,365-hp engines—on display during Wednesday evening’s Shootout on the Strip at the historic Bagnell Dam Strip. He’s also planning to bring his 38-foot Fountain Powerboats center console to the street festival along with his good friend Mark Tuck’s Outerlimits SV 44.
“We plan to participate in the fun run on Thursday, the auction on Thursday evening at Performance Boat Center, followed by the poker run on Friday and the Outerlimits Rendezvous event to Coconuts on Friday afternoon,” said Janssen, who is hosting several friends throughout the week, including Tuck, Brian Forehand, Dave Scotto, Dan Davies and more. “Of course we will proudly have our boats on display at Captain Ron’s throughout the weekend. We are getting ready for an outstanding week of speed on the water.”
