A quick look at the table of contents in the May/June Speed On The Water digital magazine—and you can download the latest issue of the bi-monthly magazine at no charge by clicking here—will give you a rundown of the features inside. From comprehensive Desert Storm coverage and a hands-on look at Dave’s Custom Boat’s M35 catamaran in Arizona to the Outerlimits kilo records in North Carolina and a candid chat with Cigarette Racing Team’s Skip Braver in Florida, we were on scene to bring home the stories. About the only feature in the new magazine that didn’t take us on the road was the story on the Waves & Wheels interior restoration of a Baja 40 Outlaw.
That kind of travel doesn’t make the experience of producing a digital magazine any different than that of producing a print magazine. More often than not, travel comes with the job. And the production cycle, from planning each issue to assembling the final print-quality PDF, is about the same as it is for a print magazine. The only things that are different? We don’t plate, print and distribute.
