The acclaimed ESPN Films “30 For 30” series began as a celebration—through a variety of riveting documentaries on both famous and notorious sports figures— of the television channel’s 30-year anniversary. To date, the “Peabody-winning, Emmy- winning and Academy Award- winning series has extended beyond that framework and has now produced more than 90 films,” according to the ESPN website.

If you haven’t seen a “30 For 30” installment—unlikely as that is—you need to. From highs to lows, sports documentaries don’t get any better. Inspired by the television series—we’re huge fans of sports and media excellence,of course—we decided to take a similar approach to
our digital magazine coverage of this year’s Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, which celebrated its 30th anniversary in style.

So with that in mind, we present 30 notable high points, though not necessarily in order of importance, from this year’s happening in the middle of Missouri.
