Inside SOTW Mag: Statement 380 Center Console Profile—Ultimate Role Player

In what Walter and Donna Molosh hope will be the not-too-distant future, their 2016 Statement Marine 380 center console powered by triple Mercury Marine Verado 350 outboard engines will begin pulling relatively light duty as a yacht tender. Well-known in the New Jersey performance boating community, particularly for their former 40-foot Skater catamaran, the couple is looking at yachts in the 60- to 70-foot range from the likes of Hatteras and Sea-Ray, and they are serious enough about buying one to have had Statement Marine in St. Petersburg, Fla., install a tender pole for towing their 38-footer when they ordered it.

But in the meantime, they’re not waiting around for their big-boat acquisition to tour the Bahamas—they’re just doing it in their Statement 380, which currently is stored at Brand X Hi-Performance Marine in Pompano Beach, Fla.

“We usually leave from Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) and head to Bimini,” said Molosh, who in addition to the Skater 40 once owned a 36-foot Nor-Tech catamaran and a couple of 38-foot Formula V-bottom sportboats. “Then we head for the Exumas, Eleuthra and the Abacos.”
