Inside SOTW Mag: Quick Silver

Although much of the Midnight Express team’s focus was on the new pair of 43-foot center consoles in the company’s booth at the 2015 Miami International Boat Show, one of which gained nonstop attention throughout the five-day showcase, the crew at the Hollywood, Fla., center console company also managed to put its latest 43’ Open in the in-water portion of the event for a limited amount of demo rides.

One of the new 43’ open center consoles from Midnight Express makes a powerful impression with quad Seven Marine 557 engines.

Thanks to the generosity of the owner of the spacious and beamy—as in 12 feet, 6 inches—V-bottom, several potential customers as well as some of Midnight Express’ strategic partners got to feel the responsiveness and performance of the hefty—as in 13,000 pounds—boat with a set of four 557-hp engines from Seven Marine.

Fortunately, just a day after witnessing the Miami show unveiling of the 627-hp engines from Seven Marine coinciding with the Germantown, Wis., company’s fifth anniversary, speedonthewater.com was invited on one of the rides with Captain Dan Cohen, Seven Marine’s Steve Lippincott, two people from the company that paints the Seven Marine engine cowls and a German couple who founded Neander Motors in Kiel.
