Writing about the debut of the 360 MC Flyer from Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats in mid-August, I never expected that two weeks later I’d be taking a ride on the stunning new 36-footer from the North Fort Myers, Fla., company.
Strike that—”ride” isn’t the best description. I was able to “experience” the 360 MC Flyer during the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout poker run after being invited by Terry Sobo, Nor-Tech’s director of sales and marketing, to join him, his girlfriend, Chrissy, and Nils Johnsen, Nor-Tech’s co-owner and lead designer, on the newest addition to the company’s luxurious Monte Carlo lineup. Speedonthewater.com representatives Jim Biro and Ryan Johnson were fortunate to come along for the experience as well.
Powered by three color-matched Mercury 300 Verado engines, the 360 MC Flyer was as beautiful in person as it appeared to be in the photos supplied for my original story (read it here). Johnsen built the first boat, which features an attractive cerulean blue paint job, for his own use. The design, he told me during the poker run, incorporated retro styling inspired by some of his favorite boats, the Art Carlson-designed Glastrons, complemented with today’s outboard engines that are dependable, powerful and require little maintenance.
