Although they’ve only had time to use their new boat twice since it debuted in the water at the Miami International Boat Show in February—once in the Florida Powerboat Club’s Miami Boat Show Poker Run and once for the club’s Tampa Bay Poker Run in April—Mark and Eileen Fischer are overjoyed with their latest V-bottom, a stunning 50-footer from Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats.
And as they should be considering the orange and blue beauty—dubbed Where’s Eileen Now?—is the first 527 to come from the North Fort Myers, Fla., company. The larger sibling to Nor-Tech’s 427 and 477 models, which feature center-position steering and helm seats as well as an elongated cockpit and a redesigned aft end with a larger swim platform, the 527 is fully loaded from its cabin to its command center.
To power the V-bottom, the Fischers opted for twin Mercury Racing 1350 engines with M8 drives, and the couple who own the Florida-based companies Boats Direct USA and Off Lease Only couldn’t be more thrilled with the overall package. They have a great basis for comparison, too, as Mark and Eileen—two of the most well-known performance boaters on the poker run front thanks to their widespread participation and sponsorship of FPC events and other runs—owned a 2009 5000V with triple 1,000-hp engines built in house at Nor-Tech and named Eileen’s Fifty.
