Inside SOTW Mag: A Leg Up—Finding The Right Lifejacket

Michael Ciasulli is a smart guy, successful in business and in motorsports. He owns a Skater 388 powered by Mercury Racing 1350s with M8 drives that runs in excess of 175 mph. Ciasulli is a former world class sportscar and offshore powerboat racer so he knows full well the potential danger he’s dealing with every time he fires up his boat at the start of a poker run.

And during those poker runs, he wears an inflatable lifejacket.

“I wear an inflatable, but the one I wear is more than just your standard body recovery system,” he said. Ciasulli and his passengers wear an equivalent to the current Mustang Elite 5183, which is an inflatable that looks more substantial than the typical SOSpender-style inflatable, but I could hear in his voice that Ciasulli knows he should be wearing something more.
