With new sponsor Hotelplanner.com on board thanks to the Powerboat P1 USA group, the organizers of the Hotelplanner Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix sanctioned by Powerboat P1 have announced that the Race World Offshore organization “will be providing additional personnel to assist with technical inspections for Sarasota’s race on Sunday, July 1.” The news of the collaboration was announced today in a press release from the event, which benefit’s Florida’s Suncoast Charities For Children organization.”

According to the release, “The sole purpose of this collaboration was to grow a very strong and consistent platform within the sport of offshore powerboat racing, not only for the upcoming race season but also for the future.”

Said chief Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix Festival organizer Lucy Nicandri in the release, “Powerboat racing is a tradition for our race site and the large powerboats are what race fans look forward to seeing each year. By facilitating this collaboration with Powerboat P1 and Race World Offshore, our race site hopes to enhance the sport of powerboat racing for spectators whether they watch from the beach or on television."

Also in the release, Powerboat P1 confirmed that a one-hour program featuring Sarasota’s Grand Prix Race (Sunday, July 1) will air Sunday, July 22, on CBS Sports at 4 p.m. (EST). The program reportedly will air in all 50 states and “is expected to reach 65 Million households.”
