Had it not been for his persuasive wife, Heather, Tennessee’s Chad Collier likely would have joined his own Old Hickory Fun Run, Raft-Up and Pub Crawl this summer in a Mystic Powerboats M4200 luxury center console with 1,600 hp worth of outboard engines rather than stealing the show in a new low-profile Mystic C4400 catamaran powered by 2,700-hp worth of Mercury Racing quad overhead cam turbocharged stern drive power. Last March, the Colliers, who formerly owned a Mystic C5000 cat, headed to Florida for the Palm Beach International Boat Show to hang out with Mystic principal John Cosker and Scott Sjogren of Mystic Powerboat Sales and do a little boating, maybe even buy a boat.
But what Chad Collier had in mind was completely different from what Heather Collier had in mind.
“She was the one who wanted cat,” said Chad. “I would have bought Win Farnsworth’s 42-foot Mystic center console—they had it on display in Palm Beach—on the spot. That’s the truth.”
