One of the last go-fasting boating events of the summer, Poker Runs America’s Rock The Bay Poker Run attracted approximately 50 boats to Maryland’s famed Chesapeake Bay. Among those who participated were well-known poker run enthusiast Bob Christie, his wife, Madelyn, and their crew, and he sent us this image from the event.
“Good weather, great water,” said Christie after returning from Rock The Bay. “I had a blast.”

A longtime powerboat owner recently featured in speedonthewater.com’s “Sunday Fun Day” department, Christie lives in New Jersey and is currently “retired.” Translation? He hasn’t quite found his next business opportunity and—in the meantime—has been hitting the poker run circuit hard for the past two seasons.
Christie’s current ride is a Cigarette 42X sportboat with a pair of Mercury Racing 1100 engines. Prior to purchasing the Cigarette, he owned a 38-foot center console from Statement Marine, the famed 44-foot Speed Racer catamaran built by MTI, and Perfect Storm, a 36-foot Nor-Tech cat.
