A man in constant motion, speedonthewater.com chief photographer Pete Boden had one more mission—an unusually late one—to complete for us this year. So early yesterday morning, he headed to Miami to capture a new Skater Powerboats 388 catamaran powered by twin Mercury Racing 1350 engines for the upcoming Speed On The Water 2016 Year In Review collectible edition. Sean Evans of Go Fast Marine Services in West Palm Beach, Fla., delivered the boat to the shoot.

As usual, Boden, who shot the 38-footer from a bridge, returned to his home across the state in Bradenton with some beauties. The image above is just one of them. As for the rest, you’ll have to wait until the 164-page, oversized print magazine—our second Year In Review print issue—comes out in January. (In the meantime, you might want to order one.)
Boden bagged more than a few special assignments with speedonthewater.com this year, including a gig shooting new boats from Mystic, Outerlimits and Statement from a helicopter in November during the Super Boat International Offshore World Championships in Key West, Fla. Those images, like the best of what he captured yesterday, also will appear in the upcoming print edition, as will dozens of his photos from offshore racers, pokers runs and assorted events from around the country. From the West Coast to the East Coast and just about everything between, if a major go-fast boating event was happening Boden likely was there to capture it.
Thank you, Pete Boden, for another great year of excellent work.
