From the looks of this sunrise picture taken by Jimmy Biro, it’s easy to see why early fall is Jim Nichols’ favorite time of year in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. Biro, who represented speedonthewater.com at last weekend’s Monster Bash Poker Run on Lake Havasu, took full advantage of the beautiful weather to gather images, video interviews and take closer looks at various high-performance boats from DCB, Eliminator Boats, MTI, Nordic Boats, Skater Powerboats and much more.

In fact, Win Farnsworth—the owner of Silver Lining, DCB’s first M41 Widebody catamaran—gave Biro the final spot in the six-seater that is powered by twin Mercury Racing 1350 engines for the seventh annual poker run. In typical Farnsworth fashion, the Colorado performance boater took extra time during the long weekend to provide charitable rides in the 41-foot cat. (Look for a full video interview with Farnsworth in the near future.)

Nichols, who also produces the Desert Storm Poker Run under the LakeRacer LLC banner, was happy that the weather was great and that everyone was safe. Overall, all of the participants who attended the run, which was hosted by the Nautical Beachfront Resort, had a great time and raised a record-setting $35,000 for the Lake Havasu Community Food Bank.
As usual, Saturday’s evening’s costume-themed cocktail party and awards dinner was as fun as any poker run party gets.
