With so much going on during the Florida Powerboat Club’s annual Key West Poker Run—the same week as the Super Boat International Offshore World Championships in the nation’s southernmost city—still moments are rare. Everyone in town for the events is either going to or coming from somewhere. Day and night, motion is constant.

But sometimes you do need to pause to take it all in. We’re not sure if Gino Gargiulo, Larry Goldman and friends were stopping to enjoy the moment in Gargiulo’s new 52-foot MTI catamaran (read the story) based on his 2017 Lamborghini Aventador SuperVeloce (SV) Roadster in front of the Conch Republic restaurant—ground zero for all FPC activities during the event—last month. They could have been looking for dock space. They could have been discussing where to have dinner that night. Or they could have stopped just to figure out what tune to blast next on the boat’s massive stereo system.
But two things are certain: First, they found a quiet moment. Second, even at rest Gargiulo’s new baby caught everyone’s attention.
