Gallery Of The Week: Fountains Fly The Flag And More At Big Thunder Marine

Dressed in red, white and blue, a new Fountain Powerboats 32 catamaran and the company’s 40-footer—dubbed the 40’ Lightning Raceboat—built for an assault on the V-bottom kilometer speed record were delivered to Big Thunder Marine in Lake Ozark, Mo., just in time for last weekend’s Offshore Powerboat Association Lake Race. Both served as a pace boat for Saturday’s multi-class contests.

While Big Thunder Marine’s new showroom held its share of new beauties from Fountain and Donzi Marine—including a new 34-foot Fountain center console as well as the 39-footer the company introduced at the 2018 Miami International Boat Show in February, the cat and the kilo boat—excellent progress reportedly continues on the project and the boat most likely will be back on the water this fall—captured much of the attention during the weekend.

Of course, speedonthewater.com photographer Pete Boden was there to bring home a winning image of the two boats side by side, as well as some of new Donzi and Fountain inventory at Big Thunder.
