While working on the wrap-up article of last weekend’s sixth annual Lake Murray Poker Run in South Carolina, this picture of a couple of offshore V-bottoms from Fountain Powerboats caught my eye as it appeared that the Fountains’ “beaks” were kissing smack dab in the middle of the lake.
A couple of Fountains share a little PDA on South Carolina’s Lake Murray last weekend. Photo by Jacob Davis/LakeLifePhotos
Owned by Kearns and Shanon Little of Charlotte, N.C., the white 38 Lightning to the right is powered by a pair of Mercury Racing HP500EFI engines, while the yellow 35 Lightning owned by Paul Brown of Rock Hill, S.C., is powered by twin Mercury 575SCi engines.
The timing of the photo taken by Jacob Davis of LakeLifePhotos was perfect as it seems like the boats really are touching even though their bows are probably not as close as it looks. Still it’s a cool picture, which is why it was chosen for our Image of the Week.
