Photos of high-performance powerboats with just the tips of their propeller blades slashing the water never get old. Don’t believe us? Check out this image of a Fountain 32 Thunder Cat dancing its way through the main harbor in Key West, Fla., during the Super Boat International Offshore World Championships earlier this month.

Fountain and Big Thunder Marine, its dealer in Gravois Mills, Mo., showcased the 32-footer as a paceboat during all three days of racing during the SBI Key West Worlds. That gave speedonthewater.com chief photographer Pete Boden more than a few opportunities to capture it, and of course he came back with a great shot.
Safe to say, Boden was more than a little familiar with Fountain’s 32 Thunder Cat long before he arrived in Key West, having extensively photographed it for the six-boat sport catamaran roundup that ran in the September/October issue of our digital magazine. Still, he managed to capture a fresh take on it in Key West.
