Colorful as it was in terms of action, yesterday’s “Sequence of the Week” from photographer Tim Sharkey was digitally processed into black and white. We’d be remiss if we didn’t offer something brighter from last Saturday’s Hudson River fun run, so we asked Sharkey if had something a bit more vivid and true to life. Naturally, Sharkey delivered.

While fall color on the Hudson River is typically reserved for the foliage on the shoreline, Saturday’s 50-boat fleet brought plenty of it—so much so that Sharkey isn’t even close to sorting all his images—to the water. This image Anthony Durso running his 37-foot Outerlimits (in the foreground) alongside Ed LaGuardia in his 27-foot Activator is one of the many stunners in Sharkey’s still-growing Hudson River Fun Run gallery.
All that remains in terms of events for the 2015 go-fast boating season is the Florida Powerboat Club’s Key West Poker Run, and it’s a more-than-safe bet that event will deliver plenty of color of its own—on and off the water. But for the Northeast, the Hudson River fun run completed the season in fine and colorful fashion.
