Like speedonthewater.com co-publisher Jason Johnson and chief photographer Pete Boden, the DCB Performance Boats team and their faithful clients were supposed to be enjoying the 13th annual Lake Powell Challenge this weekend. As regular speedonthewater.com readers know, the event was cancelled in late-July.

But that didn’t stop the DCB crew—along with 20-plus of the El Cajon, Calif., company’s customers—from setting up shop for the weekend at the famed waterway. The Arizona-based event has become a DCB client-favorite during the past dozen years and the custom high-performance catamaran builder has never failed to support it.
“DCB customers are a family,” said Jeff Johnston, the president of the company. “This is another family gathering at a place we all love.”
Fresh from its debut during the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, the DCB’s first M37R Widebody catamaran was one of several DCB models on Lake Powell today. And for owners Kris and and Shelby Hansen of Southern California, it couldn’t have been a better place to take delivery.
