Speedonthewater.com chief photographer Pete Boden departed last weekend’s Erie Poker Run produced by Elite Poker Runs LLC with enough rough-water digital photographs to keep performance-boat enthusiasts on social media drooling for weeks. And Boden is just beginning to sort and edit the thousands of images he captured during the third annual event on Lake Erie in Pennsylvania.

Doing a little editing and sorting of our own in advance of our upcoming Speed On The Water digital magazine feature on the run, we came across this beauty of Jeff Morgan and his friends playing rough in Captain Morgan, his immaculate 2010 Fountain 42-footer powered by twin Mercury Racing 700 SCi engines. Morgan and company opted out of the run early—far from the only participants to do so given that 29 boats started and 11 reportedly made it to lunch from the Erie Basin Landing—but not before experiencing a bit of what the lake had to dish out.
As for the headline above, thanks to the name of the boat it pretty much wrote itself.
