Image Of The Week: Air Statement

An active fisherman from Florida by way of Toronto, Canada, boater Chris Andrisani is quickly getting used to the go-fast-boating lifestyle. That’s because Andrisani is the proud owner of a new Statement Marine 380 Open luxury performance center console powered by triple Mercury Racing 450R engines that he isn’t afraid to air out as evident in the image below taken during Andrisani’s first poker run—last month’s Tampa Bay Poker Run organized by the Florida Powerboat Club.

In fact, Andrisani’s airborne effort earned his boat a place in the randomly reoccurring “Image of the Week: Air” series (see related stories below). That wasn’t anything official up until this point, but it is now and it shall continue to be. But back to the boat, a 38-foot wave-crusher that Andrisani also uses in fishing tournaments and to hang out with friends on local sandbars.

“I’ve had other boats before but nothing like this boat,” Andrisani said. “The boat is amazing. You can’t ask for anything more custom. I mean anything you need, Statement does it. Everyone at the company went above and beyond. The boat is absolutely gorgeous.

“Performance wise it is a lot of fun,” he added. “The 450s are so impressive. We had 11 people in the boat recently and we were still running 80 mph. It handles the rough stuff well, too.”

Andrisani, who lives close to Statement Marine owner Nick Buis and has a bunch of friends in common, said it was nice to be able to go by the Statement facility in St. Petersburg, Fla., at any point in the build process. He explained that everyone there treated him like family.

While he intends to use the boat, which has more accessories, livewells and storage compartments dedicated to the fishing lifestyle than most Statement models, in some local kingfish tournaments—namely the Meat Mayhem Tournaments pro series—he also plans to take the boat to some more poker runs this season, including the Florida Powerboat Club’s Emerald Coast Powerboat Poker Run in September in Destin, Fla.

Surely this isn’t the last time Andrisani will be caught catching air in his gorgeous 380 Open at an event in and around Florida.
