If Chris and Quinn LaMorte aren’t honorary locals of Sarasota, Fla., they should be. The New Jersey-based couple spends more than enough time there each winter to qualify. If there’s an event happening in the Sarasota area, there’s an excellent chance you’ll find running with the pack in either their 28- or 36-foot Skater Powerboats catamaran.

They even honeymooned there—on New Year’s Day—a few years ago and celebrated their New Year’s Even union by joining in the annual Joey Gratton Memorial New Year’s Day Fun Run.
So it came as no surprise to us that the LaMortes ran their 28-footer in the Sarasota-based, inaugural Outboard Skater Fun Run last month, much less than that Chris LaMorte played a key role in organizing the 12-boat event.
They even managed to come away with one of the coolest images from the day’s Pete Boden photo shoot, proof positive that locals rule, even if they happen to be of the honorary kind.
